I REALLY can not believe Wade is 16 months. I mean REALLY! It makes be so sad to think he will only be this age for a short time, but I also absolutely love watching him grow, learn and start to understand the world. I love this boy more and more everyday. He is such a blessing.
What has he been up to? Well, Wade is definitely "my little helper." He helps me do everything. Feed our dog, Charlie, mop the floors, fold laundry, empty the dishwasher, make lists, throw diapers away, put on his clothes...he can not actually do these things by himself, but it sure is cute to watch him try. Clap clap. Yeah Wade!
He has not really started talking yet, but we have heard lots of words once. He has said: hot, out, light, truck, dog, and some others that I cant remember. Oh, he once said "Mother, may I request a warm bottle of milk to accompany these chocolate chip cookies," but no big deal.
Im not sure if he knows that he is supposed to be talking since he has become quite proficient in sign language. He knows about 20 signs and that just about covers the basics to where talking is not needed. He is even making up his own signs and also remembering signs that he has never done before that I taught him months ago. Some of his newest signs include blanket, help, play, friend and bath.
Wade LOVES: milk, his binky, Charlie, books, airplanes, cantaloupe, his blankets(anything soft and snuggly-he is a snuggle bug), tickling everything(including Charlie and paintings on the wall-a little strange), being outside, sign language, watching the school bus, garbage truck and mail truck, pointing, and sitting in the bushes.
Oh and he will be starting school in the fall. Only twice a week. Big boy.
